It feels like we
have been very busy lately but it also feel like there is nothing to write
about so here is a smattering of our recent life and times.
Captain Y went
fishing for the first time in a loooooooong time and caught a Warsaw grouper
and a nice red snapper. Too bad snapper
season isn’t open yet so he had to throw it back.
Despite planting
late, the garden has really taken off.
Thus far we’ve harvested two cherry tomatoes and a half dozen okra. There are more okra growing, a bunch of green tomatoes and some tiny little bell peppers.
Our basil plant is HUGE.
I’ve gotten used to
seeing odd things when I open the refrigerator.
You never know what Captain Y has stashed in there. And yet, I’m still surprised when I see
something like this looking back at me.
We had a crawfish
boil last weekend. It was delicious but
we forgot to take photos :-(
We went to the
spring NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway and had a great time. The weekend deserves its own post if I can
ever make myself sit down and write about it.
Captain Y went
turkey hunting in Oklahoma with some of his buddies and got these two Tom’s on
the last hunt of his trip.
We got to see Scars
on 45 play at the House of Blues and stuck around after the show to talk to the
band. This is our second time to see
them live; they put on an excellent show.
This little wren
flew into the garage the other day; I think she wanted to use the washing machine, or maybe just help me sort the laundry.

I was wondering how your garden was coming along this year. We just harvested our first things this weekend- green beans! Okra is close behind, then maybe jalapenos. Looks like this year will be much better than last! When are you guys going to come see us?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how large your garden is or how well it's doing this year. Let me know what your summer plans look like, and we'll see if we can plan a trip!
DeleteEyeballs for breakfast?! Yum. That grouper is sweet but Plant Girl where is YOURS?!
ReplyDeletePlant Girl was working when said grouper was caught. Don't worry, I did help eat it!
